Everybody imagined on that, as the engines of the GT1 and GT2 cars howled loudly at Monza. Beforehand we encountered some problems on some track regarding their pit spots. Consequently the promoter of the GT-Travel, the Endurancefactory, in combination with WeHa-Racing, had to convert the calendar.

"I don't understand that" said Sven Eggert, co-respondant of the GT-Travel, "Beforehand everything was arranged, our presettings were clearly defined and now we have to search replacements for the failed tracks as soon as possible."

But as far as we knew from Sven Krischke, all conversations for our replacement tracks have nearly been finished and shortly we will expect updating the racecalender.

But back to topic at Monza.
During the testraces the racecontrol noticed that some drivers cutted extremly. Therefore during the briefing prior qualification, which was hold in german and english, it was indicated that there always have to be two tyres on the racetrack. This should be leading to an intense discussion after the race. Finally no team send a protest and therefore the racecontrol only send out verbal warnings.

The qualification, seperated into GT1 and GT2, showed that many teams didn't put one's cards on the table. Pole got Jan Henderkes infront of Florian Richters and Christopher Hall, for the GT1 David Putzke got Pole. Behind David was located Peter Enders and Daniel Hake with the places two and three.

Then it was time to race with 36 drivers and their Saleens', Aston Martins', Porsches' and Ferraris'. First they did and installation lap and finally a flying start with two hours to go.
During the first chicane, Prima Variante, surprisingly no incidents at all. But in Ascari, the way before feared crashes finally took part and retirements were inevitable.

After that, the race calmed down and continued without major incidents. Most of the teams made use of a 1-Stop-strategy. But due to high fuel burn not all pitted at the same time, some of them had to pit in twice for refueling.

At the GT2-class Florian and Jan had a tough battle for the first place. Also after pit stop Jan stayed in front of Florian. Sadly during the last lap, a lapped car took Jan Henderkes of the road at Parabolica and Florian Richters finally won the race. "I am happy that I've won but winning like this only counts 50%!" said Florian Richters at the following press conference.
After the first anger was past, Jan said: ...so I will have less weight at Imola. Third at GT2 finished Mike Voigt.

GT 1 had good battles too but at the end Peter Enders gained first victory of the season. Second finished David Putzke, third gained Jörg Paschke.

Beforehand, Endurancefactory and WeHa-Racing decided to integrate weight penalties to ensure more interesting races. We will be very anxious who is going to be winner, second-, third and fourth finisher of the next race at Imola on the 23.01.2011. There, it will be expected that the additional load will not have that much influence on the car.

All in a all a successful start of the GT-Travel.
Hopefully all teams will get their cars to Imola that we can expect a huge and tight grid for the next thrilling race.
