The first two runs of the Formula Nippon Short-Cup are done and the first points and places are assigned. It was a exhausting Tuesday evening in the land of the rising sun. The planned stream was not able to get online due to technical problems - the first green lights of the season appeared 40 minutes later than planned.

The qualification was dominated by Peter Enders and Sven Krischke, both were able to achieve their personal best under a 1:15. Michael Dinkel, two times E-LMS champion, jumped into third place.

The bitchy beasts, powered by Honda and Toyota engines, were very hard to control for all of the drivers, therefore it was estimated that many drivers will crash during the race. Consequently the racecontrol decided to make use of the launch control as a must.

So the 19 man impedimenta did a good start, only Marinus Rieder stalled his engine. Engine off - end. First corner, Peter Enders was immediately overtaken by Michael Dinkel, who did a sensational start. Peter Enders was so surprised and he lost control of his car and spun. Dropped back to the end of the field and he slowly fought his way back to the front.

Ahead Michael Dinkel, Patrick Viol, Christopher Hall and Boris Cordes pulled away. Sven Krischke was not able to do his pace like in qualification. Nevertheless he gained third place after Dinkel and Hall retired and he tried to catch Cordes again. In a moment of shock Cordes lost control of his car so that Sven gained second place with a gap of 17 seconds to the leader. Meanwhile Peter Enders fought his way back to 6th place and got caught there for a while behind Thomas Söhmisch.

Nearly 10 laps prior finish, Patrick Viol pitted to refuel his car. Meanwhile Sven Krischke passed him and a had a 12 seconds lead. "I thought there would be a mandatory pitstop" a baffled Viol said and he was not able to catch Krischke again. After a tough fight with Enders, Viol saved his second place. The following positions: Peter Enders, Boris Cordes, Marco Kurth, Ronny Granzow and Sven Eggert. 10! drivers retired after crashes.

After a short brake the second run was ready to start. After the main race with 49, laps the second race started with 33 laps to go. This time 17 drivers - among others two guest drivers - the hunt for points was opened again. Good start no incidents at all.

For a long time Peter Enders did a tough but faire fight with Sven Eggert and finally passed him. Sven Krischke had a better pace this time but was unable to compet with the pace of Enders and Viol. Again he luckily benefits of two retirements infront of him and finished the race on third position but not free of mistakes." If you keep in mind that my two spuns costed me much time a I have to make myself clear that there was much more possible than third place!" Krischke said, who was extremely satisfied with the season opening. Michael Dinkel's season opening is easily described by following: chop off and next race! Nothing worked on that evening - even race two he retired early on.

Patrick Viol, who was really angry about his "mandatory pitstop", won the race in an outstanding performance ahead of Peter Enders and Sven Krischke. Even Enders was not happy with his performance - disappointed he made up a balance and he is not that confident for future races.

On the SLS you can have a look into the complete statistic and evaluation. On the 26.10.2010 the Formula Nippon Short-Cup continues - Sugo! Rumors go for a stroll that Sugo will be visited by some TV-stations. Hopefully the technic works better this time.
